our story is an effervescence of fun, fine food, fabulous local characters & sensational service

With a heritage ever loyal to the humble days when the owners sold local seafood from an old caravan in the 1990s, On The Inlet is now a multi-award winning a la carte seafood restaurant + bar serving lunch and dinner daily.

On The Inlet Seafood Restaurant operated in an inimitable waterfront location from 1996 to late 2017 when the property was closed for the redevelopment of the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina.

An historically significant farewell party was held, with sad goodbyes to Oscar the Egret and George the Groper. 

Determined not to let the dream die, another venue was found, and On The Inlet re-opened in Wharf St for Christmas in 2017.

Chef Mitchell Nisbet has been at the helm of the kitchen for almost nine years, and in March 2019 takes over from Michaela Newton as Operations Manager. An honest commitment to allowing the best quality seafood to be the hero on every dish is at the heart of our kitchen ethic.

A tropical lunch may be bubbly or serene, as you watch a cosmopolitan world pass by.  The lazy afternoon leads gently into a relaxed tropical evening...

As the sun descends in a golden blaze behind the range, tropical fragrances perfume the air gently...fish flash in the pan and the champagne fizzes.

There is an easy flow of conversation at the bar as staff recommend wine, craft cocktails and pour ice cold beers to sun-kissed visitors with enthusiastic tales of adventures on the reef...

Candles glow throughout the dining area and tiny fairy lights twinkle as guests ease naturally towards their tables while the glazed water sparkles under a setting sun...

The promise of  a decadent seafood feast excites all the senses...and the magic is only just about to begin!
